Orc - Character LookDev

For this Project I was looking for something where I could focus more on the LookDev part. I knew that my friend Andreas Niederhofer was working on a photorealistic bust of an orc, so I approached him and we decided on doing this project together.
The Orc Andreas gave was a great start but I decided early on that I really wanted to tell a small visual story with him. My idea was to show the character right after a battle with fresh dirt and blood on him. I started by gathering references and trying some things out, until I eventually decided to do a Texturing Layer in Substance Painter.
This Project was done in Maya and rendered with Arnold, except for the background which was created in Unreal Engine with various assets from quixel and more.
